In addition to giving back to the community through financial contributions to nonprofit organizations we have also designed several projects pro-bono.
The Catlin Rotary Spray Park was a community project initiated by the 3 local Rotary Clubs to replace a maintenance prone in-ground swimming pool with an above ground spray park. Craig co-chaired the effort to raise the funds, solicit community involvement and develop a permit set of documents for the park.
A subsequent pro-bono project at the park was a sport court for basketball use.
A donor provided the funds to create an entry plaza at Heerensberger Field for the baseball field in Kelso. Collins Architectural Group provide the design and plans without cost.
The Shay Locomotive was an active working locomotive from 1924 until 1956 hauling heavy timbers out of the forests. For decades it sat on the library grounds where it rusted and was vandalized. In 1998 two Longview businessmen undertook the major effort to restore the locomotive. After a 7 year restoration effort the locomotive was returned to the library grounds and needed protection. Collins Architectural Group provided the design for the locomotive cover.
